Hot sauces are graded in Scoville units, and the equivalent to capsaicin cream is a hot sauce with 4,000-12,000 Scoville units. Avoid hot sauces that go higher than that – they can burn the skin. Tabasco original red sauce has a Scoville rating of 2,500-5,000 units.
